Last week we read that the Gentiles (non Jews) who believe in Jesus have been grafted into the Kingdom of God.
As believers they receive salvation.

After the death of Jesus, the Temple of God was irrelevant.  No longer were the High Priests required to
perform animal sacrifices.  No longer were they required to meet with the Holy Spirit in the Holy of Holies at the
Arc of the Covenant.  From this moment on, all believers can seek God’s wisdom and counsel themselves.

At this time in history, the Roman Empire had control of Israel.  The Jews rose up several time but the revolts were
crushed by Rome within a couple years.  Approximately 37 years after the death of Jesus, in 70AD, the Romans
conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple of God.  This is the second time the Temple had been de-
stroyed.  To this day, the Temple of God has never been rebuilt.

The State of Israel never existed again until May 14, 1948.  After World War II, the State of Israel
was once again established.  The State of Israel still exists today.  Unfortunately, the Jews of Israel still don’t
recognize Jesus as the Son of God.  Jesus who died on the cross and brought salvation to all believers through the
Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:5  … He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us
generously through Jesus Christ our savior.

For more information to how salvation works, please read Point of Salvation (pages 15 -18).  Column to the left.

Next week, we will review our study of the Old Testament and how Israel came into existence.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
