Revelation 2022 / 116

Again, I’d like to thank all of you for joining me in studying the book of Revelation. It is a book of history.

At the end of Revelation, this earth will be destroyed and a new earth will be created. As we have studied, the description of new Jerusalem is symbolic. I’d like to restate that no one knows if the new Jerusalem is a city on the new earth or it’s referring to the entire new earth. No one knows what the new earth will be like. Will it be like the original Garden of Eden or something we have never seen or imagined?

Without a doubt, there will be no more war, no more natural disasters, no more pain, and no more suffering. There will be complete security, complete love, joy, and peace.

Next, where are we today in the history of Revelation?

Revelation 2022 / 114

In the last two blogs of Revelation, I would like to study the following scripture.

Revelation 22:1-2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life.

This scripture is similar to the following scripture.

John 4:13-14 Jesus replied, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give you will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

The river of the water of life is referring to the Holy Spirit. The river of water of life / Holy Spirit will fill you so full of his presence that your cup will overflow with peace, joy and love.

Revelation 22:1 also states the river of the water of life is flowing. The Holy Spirit is flowing, moving, refreshing, giving life and love even in the new Jerusalem and new earth.

Next week, what is the Tree of Life mentioned in the second part of Revelation 22:2.

Revelation 2022 / 105

There is a fourth clue concerning the new heaven and new earth.

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

If there is no more death, mourning, crying or pain, than there must be no more war, no more killing, no more natural disasters, no more disease. There must be no more stress and no more anxiety. There must be complete peace and love on the new earth.

Since the fall of man there has not been a day without sorrow. On the new earth, no-one will ever feel sorrow. Every person will always be completely content and happy.

Human soul and spirit 5

Welcome.  Last week we read that the human spirit is that part of a human that communicates with the
Holy Spirit.

This week we will read why it is important for the human spirit to communicate with the Holy Spirit.

John 14:27  Peace I leave you;  my peace I give you,  I do not give you as the world gives.

Romans 8:6  The mind of a sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

Galations 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control.

Our spirit knowing the Holy Spirit brings peace, joy, love, and other good character traits into our
lives.

John 14:26  But the counselor, Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things and
will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Romans 8:26  In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray
for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Our spirit knowing the Holy Spirit brings wisdom from above.  The Holy Spirit can teach and testify
to a believer.

Also, our spirit knowing the Holy Spirit allows him to console us when our soul is in despair. 

Next week, we will read most importantly why our spirit should communicate with the Holy Spirit.

Sleep 5

CONCLUSION:  According to the scriptures, what is meant by sleep?

First, sleep refers to “slumber.”  The following scripture is one example.

Psalms 4:8  I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Secondly, sleep refers to “physical death.”  The following scripture is one example.

Acts 13:36  For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep (died), he was buried
with his ancestors and his body decayed.

Sleep does NOT refer to the soul being in a state of unconsciousness or nothingness after the body dies.

Our souls go directly to heaven or hell after we die.

Eventually, the body will be resurrected as a new glorified and spiritual body.  This body will join with our soul and
spirit.  More on this when we study Revelations.
