In Hell 1-5 we read that the home of non-believing souls is called Hell.  The place on earth that most re-
sembles the horror of this dwelling was called the “Valley of Hinnom.”  In this valley, the people of Judah built a
fire pit that was used as a garbage dump.  It was also where they burned and sacrificed their children to pagan
gods.  They have done evil in my eyes, declares the Lord.  In Hebrew “Valley of Hinnom” is translated as
“Gehenna.”  In English “Gehenna” is translated as “Hell.”

Hell is a literal place of fiery punishment.  Hell is located below the earth’s crust where the temperature
can reach 6000 degrees Celsius.

After Jesus died, he descended into hell for three days before he was resurrected.  He descended into hell to
preach to the spirits of past non-believers.

A final note:  The millennium is a time frame of one thousand years where Satan and his fallen angels will be held
in the abyss.  After the one thousand years (millennium is never used in the bible), Satan and his fallen angels will
be released for a short period of time before they are thrown into a place called the Burning Lake of Sulfur or the
Lake of Fire.  Non-believers will be released from hell and judged before God.  They will also be thrown into the
Lake of Fire.

The devil (Satan), the fallen angels and the non-believers will be tormented day and night forever and ever in the
Lake of Fire.  This is also called the Second Death or Final Death.

Next week the “Meaning of Life” followed by “Bible Accuracy.”

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

This week, most Christians know that Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead after three days, but where
did Jesus go during those three days?

1 Peter 3:19  …He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit, through whom also he went and
preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah
while the ark was being built.

Jesus descended into hell for three days and preach to the unbelievers of the past.  He may have pro-
claimed the gospel or he may have made a declaration of victory or both.

Contrary to some Christians belief, Christ DID NOT descend into hell to bring early believers out of a place
called Abraham’s Bosom.  There is no such thing as Abraham’s Bosom- a so called good area of hell that
held believers until the time of Jesus.

The false idea of Abraham’s Bosom comes from Luke 16:19-26.  These scriptures are a story or parable to make a
point.  Jesus often spoke in parables.  The phrase Abraham’s Bosom is never mentioned.  The great chasm
between the rich man and Lazarus refers to the separation between hell and heaven (heaven is where Abraham re-
sides) and not the separation between hell and some holding place where Abraham supposedly resided.

Again, there is no such thing as a holding place.  Reading 2 Corinthians 5:8 Apostle Paul says “We are of good courage, I say, and prefer to be absent from the body and home with the Lord.”  Believers go immediately to
heaven and nonbelievers go immediately to hell.

Next week we will conclude our study of hell.

Thank you so much for reading. God bless.

Last week we read that hell is inside the earth.  When Christ died he descended inside the earth to hell.  There he
proclaimed to the lost souls.

Another place inside the earth is the Abyss.  The Abyss is a subterranean home for demonic angels.
This is also where Satan will be thrown for a thousand years (what many Christians call the millennium).  We are
close but haven’t yet reached this time in history.

Revelations 9:11  Their king is the angel (Satan) from the bottomless pit;  his name in Hebrew is Abaddon,
and in Greek, the Destroyer.

Revelations 17:8  The beast you saw was once alive but isn’t now.  And yet he will soon come up out of the
bottomless pit and go to eternal destruction.

Revelations 20:3  The angel threw him (Satan) into the bottomless pit (Abyss), which he then shut and
locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished.

I believe that hell and the Abyss are located inside the earth and are filled with extreme heat, tor-
meant and agony where the fire never goes out.

Hell is so bad that in Luke 16:27, the rich man wanted to warn his brothers of this place.  ‘Then I beg you, father,
send Lazarus to my father’s house, for I have five brothers.  Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to
this place of torment.’

Luke 16:31  He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if
someone rises from the dead.’

Next week, we will be reading more in-depth about Jesus descending into hell.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Hell 3

In Hell 2 we read that hell is referred to as a place of eternal fire.  Now, let’s examine where hell is located.

In Heaven 2 and Heaven 3 we read that heaven stretches from the clouds to the stars.  God is in heaven and out-
side/above heaven.  The only other place for hell is down.  Is hell inside the earth?  Is the eternal fire
inside the earth?  I think it is.

The earth’s crust is 20 to 30 miles thick.  Beneath the crust is a layer called the mantle.  The mantle is a layer
where hot magna, molten rock and hot gases exist.  This mixture often seeps to the earth’s crust as volcanoes.

Beneath the mantle layer is the outer core which has a temperature of 4400 degrees Celsius.  Beneath the outer
core is the inner core or center of the earth.  The earth’s inner core temperature is equal to that of the sun’s sur-
face at 6000 degrees Celsius.  Some where inside the earth is the eternal fire of hell.

How do we know hell isn’t in another fiery place like the sun or another burning star?

Ephesians 4:9  What does “He ascended,” mean except that he also descended into the lower, earthly regions?

1 Peter 3:19  In it he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey.

After Jesus died on the cross, he descended into hell and proclaim the good news to the nonbelieving souls.

Next week, more on the Abyss.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Welcome and thanks for reading.

Let’s read more scriptures describing hell.

Isaiah 1:31  The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark;  both will burn together, with no one to
quench the fire.

Mathew 5:22  … But anyone who says, “You fool!” will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Mathew 18:8  It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be
thrown into the eternal fire.

Mark 9:43  It is far better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never
goes out.

James 3:6  The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body.  It corrupts the whole person,
sets the whole coarse of his life on fire in hell.

The above scriptures refer to hell as a place of eternal fire, but where is the place where the fire never goes
out?  Where is the place where no one wants to go?

Next week we will answer this question.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Hell 1

Welcome.  Let’s begin our study of hell.  Is hell real and where is it?

Jeremiah 7:30  The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the Lord.  They have set up detestable
idols in the house that bears my name and have defied it.  They have built the high places of Topheth in the
Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire- something I (God) did not com-
mand, nor did it enter my mind.

What is the above scripture saying?  South of Jerusalem, in the Valley of Hinnom, the people built a fire
pit that was a garbage dump.  It was also where they sacrificed and burned their children to pagan
gods.

In Hebrew, “Valley of Hinnom” is translated as “Gehenna.”  In English, “Gehenna” is translated as “hell.”

The bible calls the eternal home of nonbelieving souls “hell.”  It is called “hell” because the place on earth that
most resembles the horror of this eternal dwelling was the “Valley of Hinnom” or “Gehenna” as described in
Jeremiah 7:30.

Next week we will read more scriptures that describes hell as a real place.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

CONCLUSION:  According to the scriptures, what is meant by sleep?

First, sleep refers to “slumber.”  The following scripture is one example.

Psalms 4:8  I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Secondly, sleep refers to “physical death.”  The following scripture is one example.

Acts 13:36  For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep (died), he was buried
with his ancestors and his body decayed.

Sleep does NOT refer to the soul being in a state of unconsciousness or nothingness after the body dies.

Our souls go directly to heaven or hell after we die.

Eventually, the body will be resurrected as a new glorified and spiritual body.  This body will join with our soul and
spirit.  More on this when we study Revelations.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
