Holy Spirit 4

         HOLY SPIRIT 4

In Holy Spirit 3, we read that the Holy Spirit literally dwells within the believers body and testifies with our spirit.
We briefly mentioned that the Holy Spirit was essential for salvation; to be made as white as snow and to live in
heaven forever.

Let’s read more versus.

John 3:3  In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is BORN
AGAIN (BORN OF A NEW SPIRIT).”

John 3:5  “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is BORN OF WATER AND THE
SPIRIT.”

Galations 6:8  from THE SPIRIT WILL REAP ETERNAL LIFE.

Ephesians 1:3  Having believed, you were MARKED IN HIM WITH THE A SEAL, THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT,
WHO IS A DEPOSIT GUARANTEEING OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-
to the praise of his glory.

2 Thessalonians 2:13  … from the beginning God chose you to be SAVED THROUGH THE SANCTIFYING WORK
OF THE SPIRIT and through belief in the truth.

The person that receives the Holy Spirit receives the righteousness of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit covers that
persons sinful soul.  He covers their unrighteousness with his righteousness.  At this point, God can look upon a
person and see them as white as snow or as pure as snow.  God, by his very nature, requires pureness or sin-
lessness.  At this point a person has received their inheritance of salvation and can enter heaven.

Salvation is not by any good works that you have done but by the Holy Spirit living in you.

We will be reading more about the Holy Spirit when we review “Point of Salvation” and the “Trinity.”

Next week we will be reading about heaven.  Is heaven a real place and where is heaven?

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Holy Spirit 3

         HOLY SPIRIT 3

So far, we have read that the Holy Spirit is Omnipresent, the Holy Spirit is a person and not an it or thing and
that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are separate beings.

Although the Holy Spirit is Omnipresent, everywhere at the same time, let’s read where he will not live unless he’s
invited.

Romans 8:9  You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the SPIRIT OF GOD LIVES
IN YOU.

Romans 8:11  And if the SPIRIT of him who raised Jesus from the dead is LIVING IN YOU, he who raised Christ
from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through HIS SPIRIT WHO LIVES IN YOU.

1 Corinthians 3:16  Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that GOD’S SPIRIT LIVES IN YOU.

1 Corinthians 6:19  Do you not know that YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS IN YOU,
whom you have received from God?

Ephesians 2:22  And in him you too are being built together to become A DWELLING IN WHICH GOD LIVES BY
HIS SPIRIT.

2 TIMOTHY 1:14  -guard it with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT WHO LIVES IN US.

As believers who have accepted Christ and received the Holy Spirit, the HOLY SPIRIT LITERALLY DWELLS WITHIN
OUR BODY AND TESTIFIES WITH OUR SPIRIT.  As we will read in the chapter “Point of Salvation”, this is absolutely
necessary to be saved, made as white as snow, and to live in heaven for eternity.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Holy Spirit 2

         HOLY SPIRIT 2

Continuing with the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, let’s read five scriptures that verify that the Holy Spirit is a
SEPARATE SPIRITUAL PERSON from the Father and Jesus.

Luke 11:13  how much more will your FATHER in heaven give the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ask him.

John 14:26  But the Councelor, the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the FATHER will send in my name, will teach you all
things and will remind you of everything I (JESUS) have said to you.

Mathew 3:16-17  JESUS was baptized;  the SPIRIT descended;  the FATHER spoke.

Isaiah 48:16  From the time that it was, there AM I; and now the LORD GOD, and his SPIRIT has sent ME (JESUS).

Mathew 28:19  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and
of the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Although GOD the FATHER, JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT  are SEPARATE SPIRITUAL PERSONS, we will see how
they are exactly the same when we review the Trinity.

To review, in Holy Spirit 1 and Holy Spirit 2, we have read that the Holy Spirit is OMNIPRESENT, he is a
SPIRITUAL PERSON (not an it or thing) and he is a SEPARATE SPIRITUAL PERSON from God the Father and
Jesus.

Again, thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Holy Spirit 1

Thanks for reading about the Holy Spirit.  Who or what is the Holy Spirit?  What is his or its characteristics?

Psalms 139:7  Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go to the heavens,
you are there;  if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.  If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on
the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Joel 2:28  And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

These two scriptures express the characteristic of OMNIPRESENCE.  THE HOLY SPIRIT IS PRESENT IN ALL
PLACES AT ALL TIMES.  The Holy Spirit cannot be escaped.  The Holy Spirit is outside the realm of time and
space.

John 16:13  But when HE, the Spirit of Truth, comes, HE will guide you into all truth.

Romans 8:16  The Spirit HIMSELF testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

These two scriptures tell us that the Holy Spirit is a HE or HIM, a SPIRITUAL PERSON.  The Holy Spirit is not an
it or thing.

Also, the Holy Spirit is always capitalized, just like God and Jesus.  This denotes that the Holy Spirit is important,
a name, a person like God and Jesus.  A SPIRITUAL PERSON like God and Jesus.

So far, we have read that the Holy Spirit is OMNIPRESENT and that the Holy Spirit is a SPIRITUAL PERSON like
God and Jesus and not an it or thing.

Next week we will continue with the characteristics of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
