Let’s review our study on Genesis 6:1-2

Genesis 6:1-2  When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born of them, the
sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they married any of them they chose.

Many Christians believe the sons of God were angels that rebelled against God.  The rebellious angels married
and had sex with human women.  As a result, their offspring were a giant human race called Nephilim.

This is incorrect because  1.  Angels are spiritual beings and cannot have sex with human flesh.  2.  Angels and
Satan do not have the power of creation.  Only God does.  3.  Rebellious angels were not cast out of heaven until
just after Jesus birth.  They weren’t on earth during Genesis.  4.  No where in the Old Testament is demon pos-
session mentioned.

The sons of God are actually the descendants of Seth.  They called on the name of the Lord.  The daughters of
men are from the descendants of Cain.  They did not call on the name of the Lord.

The sons of God “believers” saw that the daughters of men “nonbelievers” were beautiful.  They married
and had sex with them.  They were unequally yoked.  The sons of God lost their faith.  Mans heart became evil.

This greatly disappointed God so he wiped mankind from the face of the earth.  Only Noah and his family found
favor with God.  Noah and his family survived the flood and began to repopulate the earth.

Next week, who are the Nephilim of Genesis 6:4.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

In Genesis 6:1-2 we read that the “sons of God” or descendants of Seth no longer called on the name of the Lord.
They saw that the “daughters of men” or descendants of Cain were beautiful.  They married and had sex with any
of them they chose.

In the very next verse, Genesis 6:3, God said “My Spirit will not contend with man forever.”  Again, this verse tells
us that God is talking about fallen man, not fallen angels.

The very next verses express God’s disappointment in man.

Genesis 6:5  The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become, and that every inclination of the
thoughts of his heart was evil all the time.

Genesis 6:6  The Lord was grieved that he made man on earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

Genesis 6:7  So the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth.

Genesis 6:8  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Genesis 6:9  through Genesis 7:24 tells us how Noah and his family were to build an ark.  God flooded the earth
and destroyed all mankind.  Only Noah and his family survived and started to repopulate the earth.

Next week, the conclusion to Genesis 6:1-2.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Welcome and happy new year.

Returning to Genesis 6:1-2, we’ve read that the “sons of God” are the descendants of Seth and Enosh
because they called on the name of the Lord.

But who are the “daughters of men.”  They are the female descendants of Cain.  The “daughters of men”
did not call on the name of the Lord.

Therefore, Genesis 6:1-2 is telling us that the “sons of God” or descendants of Seth began noticing the
“daughters of men” or female descendants of Cain.

The sons of faith saw that the daughters of no faith were beautiful.  The sons of faith began to marry and
have sex with the daughters of no faith.

Believers were marrying nonbelievers.  They were unequally yoked.  Also, the believers were probably
marrying more than one non-believing women at a time.

The “sons of God” were no longer calling on the name of the Lord.  They lost their faith.  Only Noah
and his family kept their faith.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Welcome and Merry Christmas.

Let’s read more scriptures that describe the “sons of God.”  These scriptures follow the family tree of Jesus going
backward.

Luke 3:23-38  Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry.  He was the
son of Joseph, the son of Heli, the son of Levi, etc., etc., etc.

the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, etc., etc., etc., (about 75 generations in all going backward).

These scriptures finish with  … the son of Kenan, the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the
“son of God.”

Again, the above scriptures confirm the “son of God”(singular) was Adam and the “sons of God”(plural) are
Seth, Enosh and their descendants.

The descendants of Cain were not considered the sons of God because they did not call on the name of the Lord.

Next week, who are the “women of Men.”

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Let’s continue to discover the “sons of God.”

Adam and Eve had a third son as the following scripture describes.

Genesis 4:25  Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has
granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain has killed him.  At this time men began to call on the
name of the lord.

Genesis 5:3-32 describes the genealogy of Seth’s descendants.  These are the descendants who did call on
the name of the Lord.

To sum up, the descendants of Cain (who committed the first murder) did NOT call on the name of the
Lord.  The descendants of Seth did call on the name of the Lord.

Therefore, the descendants of Cain were not the sons of God.  The descendants of Seth and Enosh are
considered the “sons of God.”

Next week we will read more scriptures that confirm the “sons of God.”

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Welcome and thanks for reading.

Let’s discover the “sons of God” from Genesis 6:1-2.

In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve are the first two humans that God created.  Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain
and Abel.  Cain killed Abel, committing the very first murder.  This means that Cain was the only son left and
he was evil.

Genesis 4:16  So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Cain had a son named Enoch.  Cain built a city that he named after his son.  The city of Enoch.

Genesis 4:18-22 describes the genealogy of Cain’s descendants.  These are the descendants who did NOT call
on the name of the Lord.

Next week we continue to discover the “sons of God.”

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Let’s sum up our study of Genesis 6:1-2 so far.

Genesis 6:1-2  When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born of them, the
sons of God, saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they married any of them they chose.

Many Christians believe that the sons of God were rebellious angels that married and had sex with human women.
As a result, their offspring were a giant human race called Nephilim.

This is incorrect for many reasons.

1)  Angels are spiritual beings and cannot have sex with human flesh.

2)  The rebellious angels could not take human form since the angels and Satan (also a spiritual angel) do
not have the power of creation.  They can’t create human flesh.

3)  God did not create the flesh for rebellious angels to possess.  This is evident in the very next verse.
Genesis 6:3  God expresses his displeasure with the actions of Genesis 6:2.  He did not cause it.

4)  The rebellious angels did not possess already living human beings.  Revelation 12 tells us that the
rebellious angels (demons) were not hurled to the earth until just after the birth of Jesus.

5)  No where in the Old Testament is demon possession mentioned.  The rebellious angels were not on the
earth during Genesis.

Next week, who really were the sons of God.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
