Let’s conclude our study of angels.  We have read that angels are ministering spirits sent to those who inherit
salvation, the believers.

One way that angels serve believers is to audibly deliver a message from God.  Another way that angels serve
believers is to protect them from harm.  Believers that continually listen to God will hear his warnings from the
Holy Spirit and from God’s angels.

Also, angels are used to bring God’s judgement and destruction on individuals and on large groups of people.

When angels appear to believers, they most often appear as real people.  Hebrews 13:2  “Do not forget to enter-
tain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.”

There are four basic types of angels.  1)  Seraphim angels.  These are the angels that continually praise God.
2)  Cherubim angels.  These are the angels that protect the things of God.  3)  Archangels.  These are
“Chief of the angels.”  They direct the regular angels.  4)  Regular angels.  These are the angels that are sent as
messengers to believers.

Satan (Lucifer) is most likely an archangel.  Satan is on the same level as the archangel Michael.  When
Satan turned against God, he took one third of the regular angels with him.

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless.

Angels 12

Finally, let’s read about the angel called Satan.  What kind of angel is Satan?

Revelation 12:7  Then war broke out in heaven.  Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the
dragon and his angels fought back.

Revelation 12:9  …  he (Satan) was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Mathew 25:41  …  you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Based on these scriptures, it appears that Satan was on the same level as archangel Michael.  From Angels 9, we
read that archangels are in charge of the regular angels.  These scriptures tell us that both Michael and Satan were
in charge of regular angels.  Therefore, it appears that Michael and Satan (Lucifer) are archangels.  It
appears that Satan was an archangel.

Next week, we will conclude our study of angels.  God bless.

In Angels 7 through 10 we read that there are four basic angel groups.  Some believe there are four more
groups for a total of eight.  They refer to the other angel groups as powers, authorities, dominion and
rulers.  This is based off the following scriptures.

Colossians 2:10  and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Ephesians 1:20-21  … seated him (Jesus) at his right hand in the heavenly realm, far above all rule and
authority, power and dominion and every title that can be given.

Ephesians 3:10  His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known
to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm.

Ephesians 6:12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the authorities, against the powers
of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Based on these scriptures, I CAN NOT conclude that there are four more angel groups.  To me, these
are general references that Jesus is far above any ruler or evil power on earth and he is far above any
angels or powers in the heavenly realm.

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless.

The fourth type of angels are the regular angels.  These are the angels that are sent as messengers to normal
believers.  Most of these angels are good angels but one third of them have fallen and follow Satan.

The good angels are the ones that we described with three examples in Angel 5.  They are obedient to the Arch-
angels and more importantly to God.

Again, the scriptures concerning the different types of angels are not perfectly clear.  What I described are com-
monly believed as the four different types of angels.

Next week we will read a few more possible angel types.

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless.

This week let’s read about the third type of Angel.  The archangels.

Many Christians believe the archangels are the third highest ranking angels.  They are considered
“chief of the angels.”  They direct the lower or regular angels.

Jude 1:9  But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses …

Revelations 12:7 – 9  Then war broke out in heaven.  Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan),
and the dragon and his angels fought back.  But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
The great dragon was hurled down– that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world
astray.  He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

Angel Gabriel was significant in delivering Gods message to Mary and Joseph about the baby Jesus.  Gabriel is
never mentioned in the bible as an archangel.  The book of Tobit (Catholic origin) refers to Gabriel as an archangel.

Next week, the fourth type of angel.

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless.

This week let’s read about the second type of angels.

The second type of angels are the cherubim Angels.  Many Christians believe these are the second highest rank-
ing angels.  These angels are described as angels that guard the things of God.

Genesis 3:24  After he drove the man (Adam) out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim
and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way of the tree of life.

Hebrews 9:5  Above the ark where the cherubim of the glory, overshadowing the atonement cover (Arch of the
Covenant cover).

Next week, the third type of angel.

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless.

Welcome and thanks for studying.  This week, let’s begin our study of the four different groups of angels.

First, the seraphim Angels.  These are the angels that continually praise God.

Isaiah 6:2-3  Above him (God) were seraphs, each with six wings …  And they were calling to one another:  “Holy,
holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty;  the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Revelations 4:8-9  Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under
his wings.  Day and night they never stop saying:  “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and
is to come.”

As I mentioned in Angels 6, angels are spiritual beings and the six wings might be symbolic of their great covering
or protection with wings open wide?  Also, their wings might be symbolic of their great comfort as to wrap you in
their wings?

Thank you so much for studying.  God bless
