Welcome to the new readers.
Let’s continue to read who wrote the New Testament. What single author wrote most of the
New Testament (after Jesus birth)?
Romans was written by the Apostle Paul. Reading Romans 15:26 it is suggested that Paul had received con-
tributions from the churches of Macedonia and Achalia, so he either was in the city of Corinth or had just been
there.
1 Corinthians was written by Paul. 1 Corinthians 16:21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.
Galatians was written by Paul.
Philippians was written by Paul while he was in prison. Philippians 1:13 As a result, it has become clear
throughout the palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
Colossians was also written by Paul while he was in prison. Colossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by
the will of God …
1 Thessalonians was written by Paul. 1 Thessalonians 2:18 For we wanted to come to you- certainly I, Paul,
did, again and again-
1 Timothy, Titus, Phlemon 1, and Hebrews was written by Paul.
In all, Paul wrote 14 books of the New Testament. More than any other author.
Just a little background. Paul, originally named Saul, was a Roman citizen. He would imprison Christians and per-
secute them and even have them put to death. One day, Saul was nearing Damascus to search for Christians. He
was stopped by a bright light that surrounded him. He fell to his knees as he heard the voice of Christ say “Saul,
Saul, why do you persecute me.” Because of this encounter, Saul entered Damascus and tells of his conversion.
After this he traveled the northern and eastern sides of the Mediterranean Sea spreading the news about Christ.
Thank you so much for reading. God bless.
