CONCLUSION 5:  Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land.

After conquering the entire land, the twelve tribes of Israel were allotted land to possess.

The third king of Israel was Solomon.  He built the first Temple of God (see above photo) in 957 BC.  It was
similar to the Tent of Meetings but it was a permanent structure.  The Arc of the Covenant was placed in the back
room, the Most Holy Place.  On top of the Arc were two Cherubim (Angel) statues.  The Holy Spirit appeared be-
tween the statues and would speak to the High Priests.

After Solomon’s death, the kingdom was torn in two.  The north and the south.  Both kingdoms practiced idolatry.
Because of this, God discontinued his security of Israel.  In 722 BC, the Kingdom of Israel came to an end.

In 586 BC the Temple of God was destroyed.

A short time later, Cyrus the King of Persia conquered this land.  God ordered him to build the second Temple of
God in Jerusalem.  The second Temple of God was completed in 516 BC.

Next week, the final conclusion before we review a different subject.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
