Let’s continue with the Old Testament ancestry.

Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 years old when they gave birth to a child named Isaac.

Isaac married Rebekah.  They gave birth to Esau and Jacob.  God renamed Jacob to Israel.

Genesis 35:9  After Jacob returned from Padden Aram, God appeared to him again and blessed him.  God said to
him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob;  your name will be Israel.  So he named him
Israel.

Israel had 12 sons.  These 12 sons are the origins of the 12 tribes of Israel.  One of his sons was named
Joseph who Israel loved more than his others sons.

Genesis 37:3  Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his
old age;  and he made a richly ornamented robe for him.

Next week we will continue with Joseph and his eleven brothers.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.
