Welcome and thanks for reading.  Let’s begin our next subject.

Does the bible mention dinosaurs?

The bible does mention many animals that we know today.  Animals such as lions, bears, wolves, cattle, sheeps,
dogs, hyenas, rodents and insects, but does the bible mention dinosaurs?

Job 40:15-18  Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you (Job) and which feeds on grass like an ox.
What strength he has in his lions, what power in the muscles of his belly!  His tail sways  like a cedar;  the
sinews (tendons, ligaments) of his thighs are close-knit.  His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like
rods of iron.

The first sentence of these verses tells us that the Behemoth and Job (man) lived at the same time.

Behemoth in Hebrew means “beast par excellence.”  Some believe the behemoth is an elephant or hippopotamus.
It is true that elephants and hippo’s feed on grass but neither of them have a tail like a cedar.

The behemoth is a large animal that feeds on grass, has limbs like rods of iron and a tail that sways
like a cedar (tree).  The behemoth best resembles the Sauropoda Group of dinosaurs or more specifi-
cally the Brachiosaurus dinosaur.  Seen in the above picture with the long neck, standing on the shore of the
water.

Next week we will begin reading about the leviathan.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Jeff
