soul

Last week we read that the soul is the emotional part of a person.  The inmost eternal part of a person that feels
distress, hope, anxiety, joy, grief, sorrow and praise.

This week, can the body be effected by the emotions or the soul?

Psalms 31:9  Be merciful to me O Lord, for I am in distress;  MY EYES GROW WEAK WITH SORROW, MY SOUL
AND MY BODY WITH GRIEF.

Psalms 63:1  O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you;  MY SOUL THIRSTS FOR YOU, MY BODY LONGS FOR
YOU.

Proverbs 16:24  Pleasant words are a honeycomb, SWEET TO THE SOUL AND HEALING TO THE BONES.

Proverbs 4:22  (Gods words, consultation) for they are life to those who find them and HEALTH TO A MANS
WHOLE BODY.

Proverbs 15:30  A cheerful look brings JOY TO THE HEART (SOUL), AND GOOD NEWS GIVES HEALTH TO THE
BONES.

These scriptures tell us that THE THINGS THAT EFFECT THE SOUL CAN ALSO EFFECT THE BODY.  For example,
when the soul is deeply sorrowed or stressed, the body may feel chest pains or headaches.  When the soul is
joyful, chest pains or headaches may disappear.  When the soul is downcast, the body may slump.  When
emotions are good, the body is more upright.

This can also work in reverse.  If the body is tired or sick, it can effect your emotions or soul in a negative way.
When the body feels well, it can effect your emotions or soul in a positive way.

Next week, what is a person’s spirit?

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Jeff
