Welcome and thanks for reading.

Let’s read one more requirement of the tithe from the original Israelite tribes.

Dueteronomy 14:28  At the end of EVERY THREE YEARS, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and
store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and THE
ALIENS, THE FATHERLESS AND THE WIDOWS who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied.

EVERY THREE YEARS, THE TITHE WAS NOT ONLY FOR THE LEVITES, BUT ALSO FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE.

Let’s review what we’ve read in Tithing 1-4.  So far, the Old Testament scriptures have established that the
TITHE refers to 10% of the PRODUCE, NOT MONEY, from the LAND of the ELEVEN ISRAELITE TRIBES.  This
produce was to be given to the LEVITE TRIBE because they HAD NO LAND INHERITANCE OF THEIR OWN.
The Levite tribe served RELIGIOUS DUTIES for the other eleven tribes.

ONCE A YEAR, the tithe was brought to the TOWN of the CENTRAL SANCTUARY.  If the central sanctuary
was TOO FAR, the produce would be EXCHANGED FOR SILVER.  UPON ARRIVAL, the silver would be EX-
CHANGED BACK FOR PRODUCE.  ALL TRIBES ATE from the tithe during the INITIAL FESTIVAL.  The rest of
the produce went to the Levites (twelfth tribe).

EVERY THIRD YEAR, part of the tithe went to the LESS FORTUNATE;  the ALIENS, the FATHERLESS,
and the WIDOWS.

Next week we will read specifically about money.  Is money included in the tithe?

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Jeff
