Welcome and thanks for reading.  Last week we read that the apostles and only a few other people were chosen
to die for their faith.  To be martyrs.

This is evident in 1 Corinthians 4:9  For it seems to me that God has put us APOSTLES on display at the end of
the procession, LIKE MEN CONDEMNED TO DIE.

With this said, 2 Timothy 3:12 says  “In fact, EVERYONE who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be
PERSECUTED.”

This scripture is telling us that everyone who professes the name of Jesus will be persecuted.  I believe persecu-
tion in this scripture refers to verbal persecution, slander, oppression, treated with injustice, friends leaving you,
etc.  IT DOES NOT MEAN ALL BELIEVERS WILL BE PHYSICALLY HARMED OR KILLED.

As we read in Ephesians 6:11-12 and proverbs 1:33, if you put on the full armor of God and continually listen to
the Holy Spirit you will live in safety and without fear of harm.

CONCLUSION OF COINCIDENCE 1-9:   Based on scripture, there are such things as coincidence and random
accidents among Christians.  THINGS DO HAPPEN BY CHANCE.

Also, things (good and bad) do happen to us for a reason.  SOME THINGS ARE NOT BY CHANCE.  The devil and
his fallen angels are scheming to do bad things to people.  Their purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy.  On the
other hand, God and his Angels are doing good things and reaching people for his goodness, his love and eternal
life.  There is literally a spiritual war going on.

All Christians will suffer persecution in the form of slander, oppression, loosing friends, etc.  This will happen just
by professing the name of Jesus.  THOSE CHRISTIANS THAT TAKE THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO AN ADVANCED
LEVEL, PUTTING ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD AND CONTINUALLY LISTEN TO THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL NOT BE
PERSECUTED TO THE POINT OF PHYSICAL HARM OR DEATH.

The exception is the APOSTLES AND SOME PROPHETS.  THEY WERE CHOSEN OUT OF THIS WORLD AND SET
APART TO BE PERSECUTED TO THE POINT OF DEATH FOR THEIR FAITH.  THEY WERE CALLED TO BE MARTYRS.

Next week, we will begin reading about the Trinity.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Jeff
