COINCIDENCE 5

Last week we read that believers are protected from the devil, his fallen angels and those that do evil.  If this is
true, why do some Christians die in plane crashes, some are murdered, some are harmed in war, etc?

I think the answer is not whether a person is a Christian but whether one is WEARING THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD
and if one truly loves and LISTENS TO THE LORD.  A person may believe in God and Jesus and receive salvation
from the Holy Spirit but that doesn’t mean they are WEARING THE ARMOR OF GOD and CONTINUALLY LISTENING
to the Holy Spirit.

First, let’s read about THE ARMOR OF God.

Ephesians 6:14-18  Stand firm then, with the belt of TRUTH buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of
RIGHTEOUSNESS in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of PEACE.  In
addition to all this, take up the shield of FAITH, with which YOU CAN EXTINGUISH ALL THE FLAMING ARROWS
OF THE EVIL ONE.  Take the helmet of SALVATION and the sword of the Spirit, which is THE WORD OF GOD.
AND PRAY IN THE SPIRIT ON ALL OCCASIONS WITH ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS AND REQUESTS.  With this in mind,
BE ALERT and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Knowing and having God’s TRUTH, his RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, FAITH, SALVATION, his WORD and PRAYING
ON ALL OCCASIONS will help you stand firm against the temptations and darts that come from the devil and his
fallen angels.

Secondly, let’s read about LISTENING TO GOD.

Proverbs 1:33  BUT WHOEVER LISTENS TO ME WILL LIVE IN SAFETY AND BE AT EASE, without fear of harm.

It is not enough to just be a Christian, but a Christian that loves and CONTINUALLY LISTENS to God.  Many
christians go to church, do good things and even pray to God but they don’t listen for his voice (Holy Spirit’s).
They don’t hear his warnings or his instructions to remain safe.

Next week we will expand on God’s protection and give some examples.

Thank you so much for reading.  God bless.

Jeff
